NOTE: If you need a multi-tab, multi-slide solution look here.
In the Articulate Forums Erika asked "if there's away to create a player tab (like Exit & Attachments) that when clicked will take you to a particular slide number."
I decided it wouldn't be too hard to do with the SDK but wanted a way to make it reusable so that you can set it to jump to any slide you want. Turns out it wasn't too hard to add that feature either. :-)
In this example I used it to jump the student to a slide containing a 'map' for navigation. But I am sure you can think of better things to with it. Please leave your comments below.

Thank you for continuing to produce timely, interesting and very useful flash tools that assist the community. I’m glad the Articulate folk have you onboard.
Hey Gazzzz! Thanks for all your help and comments.
Well... I wouldn't say 'onboard'. That make it sound like they are paying me to have fun with their stuff.
For us non flash programmers you are a inspiration, the small programmes and add on's are fantastic, thanks for helping us to be more professional!
Id like to be able to use a dockmenue.swf movie that has a number of buttons and scrolls horizontally. It is controlled from an external xml file. Id like to put that on slide 1 and have it go to the other slides by clicking on the movie buttons. Heres example xml for 2 buttons. Do you know how I can get this to work ?
This solves a big problem for me - if only I can add two more buttons. Is it possible to add multiple buttons to jump to different slides?
Glad it helps!
Currently the file leverages an Articulate ID to locate itself and see what slide you put in the xml.
I may be able to build one that uses a different ID...
Very good post, thanks a lot.
Is it possible for me to, instead asking the target_slide to go to a specific slide number, but the next slide - whatever slide number that is? So its generic - forward to next slide..? Know what I mean?
is it possible to have the jumper file/art_plugins.xml only appear on ONE particular slide - (this would be better for me...) so that - for example, my user can have the option to skip a quiz that I have inserted in the middle of my presentation. I have 2 quizzes in mt presentation at different spots..
I need just exactly this. I was very excited to discover that you had done this and were generously letting everyone use it. However when I got here and clicked the video player button... nothing happened. No demonstration of it working. No explanation of how to use it. I remain stumped.
Is there a secret button to push? or am I doing something wrong?
I just did not see your response and was still waiting.
Given my comment above (see above), I got it to work. Actually it just worked the next morning. I didn't do anything special or even different.
But look at my comment above for my next problem.
I did this it worked the first time I opened the presentation and has not worked since.
You didn't say it would work on Articulate On-Line, but then you didn't say it wouldn't.
I followed directions precisely. I have rechecked the file I uploaded and everything is there, in the proper place, and art_plugins.xml is correct (can't check jumper.swf).
I republished it for CD and that one works continuously.
I republished it for WEB and that one works continously.
If the one on Articulate On-Line had never worked it would make more sense, but to work once and never again is weird.
Thinking that the files on A O-L might have become corrupted, I republished the set and uploaded it.
It does not show the Jump TAB.
Any idea what's going on?
Help will be much appreciated.
Hi JP, I am sorry you are having problems with this.
What you are describing sounds like a known bug with Articulate where sometimes it does not wait for extra tabs and toolbar items to load before it starts up.
Does it appear if you refresh the browser?
This presentation is set to come up in a frame without controls, so making it refresh was rather difficult.
BUT after a bit of fiddling I managed to make it refresh and the TAB did appear.
The people viewing this presentation are unlike to know that this needs doing or to know how to do it.
What can I do to fix this problem?
Is there a way to make it refresh automatically?
